Tallahassee Community College District Board of Trustees elected Jonathan Kilpatrick as chair at their August meeting this week. In the address, Murdaugh thanked Governor Ron DeSantis and the Florida Legislature for allocating significant new funding to TCC, announced the strategic priorities for the year, and shared plans for a potential name change for the College. Tallahassee Community College District Board of Trustees Chair Eugene Lamb, Jr. has been awarded the 2023 Southern Region Trustee Leadership award by the Association of Community College Trustees (ACCT). Lamb has served on the Board since 2007, when he was appointed by Governor Charlie Crist. He has since been re-appointed to five consecutive terms by Governors Rick Scott and Ron DeSantis, and is currently serving his fourth term as chair. Read More

Tallahassee Community College has been recognized by the National Security Agency (NSA) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) as a Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense (CAE-CD). The CAE-CD program is a joint effort by the NSA and DHS to reduce vulnerability in our national information infrastructure by promoting higher education and research in cyber defense and producing professionals with cyber defense expertise. Dr. Jim Murdaugh, president of Tallahassee Community College, has announced that Shelly Bell has been appointed as the new Vice President of Workforce Development effective July 24. Bell has served as the Director of Lively Technical College since June 2017. Under her leadership, the school transitioned from a vocational center to a technical college and experienced remarkable growth. Read More
