The federal Campus Sex Crimes Prevention Act requires Tallahassee Community College to inform the college community where information concerning registered sex offenders may be obtained. The act also requires states to obtain information concerning registered sex offenders' enrollment or employment at institutions of higher education, and to make this information available promptly to a campus police department or other appropriate law enforcement agency having jurisdiction where the institution is located.
