Calendar Nominations

Nominations for the Cherry Hall Alexander African-American History calendar are accepted in the fall of each year.


Selection Process

In order to be considered for this year's calendar, nominees must be a African-American business leader/owner, religious leader/clergyman, and/or involved the the Arts.

Once you submit your completed form, the calendar committee will review the application and all related documents. Thereafter, the African-American History calendar coordinator compiles the nominees’ information into ballot format for voting by the calendar committee:

  • Only the information included on the nomination form by the nominator will be included on the ballot
  • BALLOTS WILL EXCLUDE THE NAMES OF THE NOMINATOR BUT WILL CONTAIN THE NAME OF THE INDIVIDUAL.

The coordinator then distributes the form to all committee members for voting. The committee has a set deadline to complete the voting process.

The coordinator tallies the points for each nominated individual and honorees and determines calendar honorees based on those individuals receiving the highest total points.

The coordinator contacts the chosen nominees and the nominators of the selection. Moreover, the coordinator contacts the nominators of nominees not selected for the calendar.

The process for selected honorees begins with the request and/or verification of organization information and scheduling to have their photos taken.
