TCC Receives $500,000 from Sunshine Health

Tallahassee Community College has received $500,000 from Sunshine Health to build on the success of the Gadsden Connect initiative. Gadsden Connect began as a pilot project that launched in 2020 with a primary focus of addressing the shortage of healthcare workers by providing scholarships to Gadsden County residents who meet the eligibility criteria for Nursing Assistant and Home Health Aide certification programs. Governor Ron DeSantis has awarded almost $1.6 million to TCC through the Florida Job Growth Grant Fund to increase and enhance workforce education opportunities in the healthcare industry. Governor Ron DeSantis has reappointed Eugene Lamb, Jr. to another term on the Tallahassee Community College District Board of Trustees.
Lamb was first named to the TCC board in 2007 representing Gadsden County and was reappointed to three additional terms in 2012, 2015, and 2019.
