Welcome to Academic Affairs

The office of Academic Affairs strongly supports the mission of the College and is committed to excellence and satisfaction in all of the College's academic activities. The Vice President for Academic Affairs' main goal is to attract and retain a diverse and knowledgeable faculty best suited for the College's programs; as well as, to assist faculty in offering a valuable educational experience to the students of Tallahassee Community College.

Tallahassee Community College (TCC) offers hundreds of courses in traditional classrooms for students interested in enrolling during day, evening, or weekend. Beyond traditional class offerings, the College provides educational opportunities via online, self-paced, and televised instruction. Academic Calendar

The Academic Calendar contains semester/term and session begin and end dates, holidays, exams days, and graduation. See the Online Academic Calendar for additional dates (i.e., registration, financial aid).

Academic Computing

TCC's Academic Computing manages a number of computing labs for students, faculty, and staff use. Computer labs house state-of-the-art, networked computers. Visit their site to learn more about other available equipment, software, usage policies, and hours of operations.

Academic Enrichment Opportunities

Center for Instructional Technology

The Center for Instructional Technology (CIT) places high value on integrating technology into teaching and learning at TCC. Let us help you achieve your instructional objectives by providing production and multimedia support, Blackboard and other instructional technology training, and support for classroom technology.

Center for Teaching Excellence

The Center for Teaching Excellence (CTE) offers programs to TCC faculty that encourage and facilitate faculty endeavors in art, science, and the scholarship of teaching to optimize student learning. The programs are also designed to promote excellence in teaching through collaboration, professional enrichment opportunities, and dedicated resources.

Distance Learning

TCC's Distance Learning courses are offered as flexible alternatives to traditional classroom courses.

Division of Academic Support

The Division of Academic Support a variety of courses designed to improve student performance in the college-entry skills of Reading, English, Mathematics, and College Success. In addition, the division provides academic support through the four learning centers: Reading, English Skills, Writing, and Math centers.

Division of Communications & Humanities

The Division of Communications and Humanities offers a wide range of courses in these areas and oversees many enrichment programs in the arts for students and the community.

Division of Health Care Professions

The Division of Health Care Professions offers degree and certificate programs in Dental Hygiene, Dental Assisting, Emergency Medical Services (EMT and Paramedic), Nursing (R. N.), Polysomnography, Radiologic Technology, Respiratory Care and Diagnostic Medical Sonography.

Division of History & Social Sciences

The Division of History & Social Sciences offers a wide range of courses in these areas and oversees many enrichment programs in Honors and International studies. The Educator Preparation Institute is managed by this division.

Division of Library Services

Welcome to the Division of Library Services. The TCC Library serves as a primary information source for students, faculty, and staff at the college. The Library houses materials and equipment chosen for their quality, currency, diversity and relevance to the academic curriculum and educational needs of the college community.

Division of Science & Mathematics

The Division of Science & Mathematics offers a wide range of courses in these areas and oversees many academic enrichment programs to support diversity in these fields. The Science & Math Division also offers the Biotechnology degree program.

Technology & Professional Programs offers degrees and courses in the areas of Business, Office Systems Technology, Computer Technology, Criminal Justice, Early Childhood Development and Education, Engineering and Technology, Graphic Design, Health Education, Legal Studies, Physical Education and Recreation.

The purpose of this manual is to provide technical and procedural clarification for individuals responsible for faculty selection and credentialing.
