Learning Commons Computer Area Procedures

Tallahassee Community College's Learning Commons' staff strives to make the computer area resources and time spent in them productive for all. To ensure this, computer area policies have been created.

  1. The Learning Commons is for use by students currently enrolled at TCC or one of the College's University Partners (Barry University, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Flagler College, Saint Leo University and Thomas University).
  2. Students using the computers for academic purposes will be given first priority.
  3. Learning Commons staff are available to answer questions and assist you with the equipment and software.
  4. Remember, as a TCC student you are responsible for following the TCC Student Conduct Code at all times. (Please refer to the TCC Student Handbook.)
  5. Please finish all food and tobacco products before entering the Learning Commons. Beverages with tight-fitting lids are permitted. Be careful when consuming beverages in the Learning Commons.
  6. Please place all communication devices (cell phones, etc.) on vibrate before entering the Learning Commons. In order to minimize disruptions, phone call can be made in the lobby and outside area.
  7. All printers are automatically set to print double-sided. You may be asked to limit additional copies if excessive printing is done.
  8. If you leave your computer unattended for more the 15 minutes when all computers are being used, your personal items will be safely stored, and you will forfeit the use of your computer.
  9. When you leave the computers, remember to log-off, and take your flash drive, books, and other personal items. When you are ready to leave the Learning Commons, please ensure that you check out and log off the computer.
