Communications

The Communications area provides services to every currently enrolled student. Our professional staff can help with class assignments, research papers, resumes (pdf 210.84 kB) , editing questions, and more. Our specialists listen to your needs and recommend individual programs of study in reading, writing and/or grammar, providing feedback and resources that best meet your needs and help you achieve success.

Students may also utilize our facilities to make up coursework, watch videos, and draft essays. For those who cannot make it to the Learning Commons, we offer other options such as access to smarthinking, topical resources and more. So whether you need help brainstorming for an English essay, documenting source material in Turabian format for a history project or completing a PLATO assignment the Communications area of the Learning Commons is available to assist you with all your concerns.

TUTORING 

The tutors in the Learning Commons Communications area work closely with students from all disciplines across TCC’s campus to help them achieve comprehensive reading skills for their college courses. The tutors also strive to promote student success by using many different strategies to help students comprehend material from textbooks or online courses.

One–hour group or individual tutoring sessions are available in reading and English Skills: 

Mon–Thurs:  8:00am-9:00pm

Fri:    8:00am-5:00pm      * Summer hours differ  (Learning Commons closes at 8:00pm)

Walk in assistance or scheduled tutoring sessions are available.

 Please note that walk-in Writring Area conferences are strictly limited to 30 minutes.
