Courses and Programs

AA degree seeking students must take six hours of humanities as part of their General Education requirement. Students must complete the six hour General Education communications requirement before enrolling in humanities. Admitted AS degree students, with a C or better in ENC 1101, may take Humanities course for elective credit.


Art

The Art Program offers a variety of courses in western and non-western art history, drawing, painting, photography and crafts. Faculty artists teach students the technical fundamental processes of art, and they also serve as role models to encourage students to find their own artistic direction.

Dance

Beginning and intermediate dancers will develop their knowledge and techniques of modern dance, ballet or jazz dance through instructional direction from Faculty Dancers. The Dance Program works to cultivate each student's creative, performance, and voice in dance.

Film

The TCC Film Program offers A. A. degree candidates an in-depth, liberal arts overview of film - one art form that has done more than any other to define the world view of the twentieth century.

Foreign Languages

TCC's Foreign Languages program offers students the opportunity to study the language of French, German, Italian, Spanish or Latin.

Speech

Learn the fundamentals for effective public speaking through courses offered in Speech. Faculty will guide students in understanding the nature of speech communications and help them communicate more effectively in interpersonal as well as in public settings.

Theatre

Discover the "ins and outs" of acting and on-stage productions through course work in THEATRE. The diverse programs offer introductory classes to Theatre as well as advanced training in live theatrical productions.
