We are pleased to announce the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission has awarded Candidate Status to the TCC Nursing Program. The Nursing Program is now working toward full accreditation.
The Nursing Program is approved by and meets the requirement standards for the Florida Department of Health Medical Quality Assurance Board of Nursing .
The Tallahassee Community College Nursing program began in 1970 and graduated its first class of fourteen (14) student nurses in 1972. TCC graduate nurses are hired locally as well as throughout the State and nation. As a Registered Nurse (RN) you will have numerous career opportunities. The RN provides care to patients in various settings such as hospitals, rehabilitation centers, nursing homes, home health, public health, school health, and hospice end-of-life care. TCC Nursing Program graduates earn an Associate of Science (A.S.) degree.

Evening/Weekend Program
The nursing program will not be admitting an evening/weekend student cohort at this time. Please continue to monitor the nursing web page for updates regarding this evening/weekend option.
Nursing Program Application Deadlines
The deadline for Spring 2013 entry is September 7, 2012
The deadline for Fall 2012 entry is May 7, 2012
The application is online and available to current TCC students. To access the application go to TCC Passport and go to quick links, click on either 'apply to nursing' or 'nursing application', fill out the form and submit it online. Check your email account for confirmation.
HESI A2 Nursing Admission Assessment Test
There is a $34 fee for the HESI A2 test now called Evolve entrance test
You must complete 4 sections: Reading Comprehension, Grammar, Vocabulary and Math
A minimum of 75 is required on each of the four tests. If a prospective student tests twice, the test with the higher cumulative score will be the one considered for admission.
Important Change to Florida Statutes as of July 1, 2009
IMPORTANT NOTICE : Pursuant to Section 456.0635, Florida Statutes , effective July 1, 2009, health care boards or the department shall refuse to issue a license, certificate or registration and shall refuse to admit a candidate for examination if the applicant has been:
1. Convicted or plead guilty or nolo contendre to a felony violation regardless of adjudication of: chapters 409, 817, or 893, Florida Statutes; or 21 U.S.C. ss. 801-970 or 42 U.S.C. ss 1395-1396, unless the sentence and any probation or pleas ended more than 15 years prior to the application.
2. Terminated for cause from Florida Medicaid Program (unless the applicant has been in good standing for the most recent five years).
3. Terminated for cause by any other State Medicaid Program or the Medicare Program (unless the termination was at least 20 years prior to the date of the application and the applicant has been in good standing with the program for the most recent five years).
Some of the boards, or the department where there is no board, are in the process of updating questions on licensure applications. Please continue to use the application, as it currently appears online until rules are adopted that will allow the department to replace these applications with updated versions.
