About the Division

Welcome to the Division of Technology and Professional Programs

If you are interested in pursuing education leading to specific careers, or if you want to transfer to professional 4-year programs, this is the place for you. The Division of Technology and Professional Programs offers the following options to achieve your professional career goals:

  • The Associate in Arts degree with Articulation to selected 4-year institutions. This option equips you with a marketable skill and, at the same time, will lead to an earned A. A. degree. If you need to work at the best job and best salary possible while continuing your academic studies at a senior institution, or if you need to seek full-time employment for a short time prior to entering a 4-year institution, this is the option for you.
  • The Associate in Science and Associate in Applied Science degrees are designed to prepare you for today's workforce. The purpose of the semiprofessional curricula is to prepare students so they may secure satisfactory initial employment and have the potential to advance quickly to better positions. Emphasis is placed on developing persons who not only have the necessary skill, but who also know how to assume responsibility, take initiative, exercise good judgment, work well with others, organize the work satisfactorily, and develop flexibility for a continually changing work environment. Graduates of these programs will be qualified to work either independently or as supporting personnel to assist the professionals in various phases of business, public services, and technology. Also, several of the Associate in Science degrees are articulated into 4-year institutions.
  • Certificate Programs in occupational areas are designed to provide the student with college level training in job entry skills and can be completed in a year's time, or less.

For more information on the degrees offered through TCC, visit the Areas of Study section for the most up-to-date listing.

Many of our former students have commented that they can "learn it today, use it tomorrow in their careers."

You will also have the opportunity to select several delivery options to receive your courses. TCC offers in-class sessions in the traditional 15-week format, accelerated courses in an eight-week format, online courses in both 15-week and eight-week formats and hybrid courses which are a combination of in class and online coursework. You can determine your pace to complete your goal one course at a time, or fast track your education by combining formats.

So, if you want to have the most current career education, offered at times convenient to you, in several delivery formats, at an affordable price, this is the place for you.
