Safety and Security Services

Tallahassee Community College offers the following safety and security services to students, faculty, staff and visitors. Additionally, TCC works with local, regional and state law enforcement during major emergencies.

Call Box System

Call boxes are located on each floor of all building on campus for the purpose of contacting the Campus Police Department in the event of an emergency.

To use: Push the "call" button, the box automatically dials the Police Department’s 24-hour inbound phone line.

TCC’s campus features a network of call boxes located of each floor of all buildings on campus (see map below) for the purpose of contacting the Campus Police Department in the event of an emergency.

Classroom Emergency Phones

TCC has an emergency phone in each classroom. By pressing a simple button a teacher or student, if necessary, can reach the TCC Police Department providing direct two-way communication between the caller and TCCPD. The caller display on the phone provides the TCCPD with the exact location of the caller.

Pay Phones

Dial 911 in the event of an emergency at no cost. A caller may also use payphones to call the TCC Police Department at no charge by dialing 201-6100.

Blue Light Safety Phones

Blue Light Safety Phones allow persons who feel threatened, see anything suspicious or require any type of emergency assistance to connect with the TCC Campus Police dispatcher at the push of a button. Blue Light Safety Phones are located in and around the North Annex Parking Lot, as well as on each floor of the parking garage.

Escort and Tram Service

Call (850) 201-6100 for an escort or ride anywhere on campus.

Student Resource Officer Program

The Student Resource Officer Program works with Campus Police to ensure the safety and welfare of the campus community, to serve the students, faculty and staff of TCC. The SRO Program reduces the impact of crime on the Campus through increased student involvement.

Evacuation Routes

Tallahassee Community College's Safety and Security Committee have developed evacuation routes for each facility on campus.

Building Captains

In a continuing effort to increase campus security, while ensuring the safety of students, faculty and staff, Building Captains have been assigned to all of the campus’ facilities. Building Captains are responsible, depending on their assigned area, to direct the campus community to a designated staging area as quickly as possible in the event of an emergency.
