TCC Alert

TCC ALERT  is the emergency notification arm of TCC Connect, Tallahassee Community College's notification system. If there is a condition which threatens the health and safety of persons on campus, college officials will alert the campus community using one or more of the following methods:

  1. TCC Web site
  2. Alerts Web Site
  3. TCC Connect
  4. Outdoor warning sirens
  5. Computer Pop-up Messages
  6. Facebook
  7. Twitter

TCC Web site

During an emergency event, Tallahassee Community College's home page will provide a prominent link to the College's Alerts Web site. Depending on the severity of the emergency, look for either a blue, yellow or red TCC ALERT  banner on the home page or a complete override of the home page with the Alerts Web site.

Alerts Web site

During an emergency event, TCC's Alerts Web site is your source for up-to-the-minute information from Tallahassee Community College. Within minutes of an emergency event, TCC will post details regarding the emergency, protective action recommendations and official announcements regarding cancellations, closures, etc. This page is available 24/7/365. Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to bookmark this page for quick access.

TCC Connect

TCC Connect is a new, more robust platform that allows the College to reach students, faculty and staff with important, timely information in just minutes. In addition to communicating with the campus community during emergency events, TCC Connect will distribute proactive notifications such as registration reminders, financial aid deadlines and class cancellations.

TCC Connect will send messages through the following modes of communication:

  • Voice message to home phone and mobile phone*
  • Text message to mobile phone*
  • E-mail
  • Posts to TCC's Facebook and Twitter accounts
  • Messages to TTY/TDD devices for people who are hearing impaired

* - In order to receive TCC Connect messages, TCC students, faculty and staff are asked to update their personal information on Eaglenet (faculty/staff) and TCC Passport (students). Though the College strongly encourages users to do so, you are not required to subscribe to TCC Connect through these modes of communication.

Outdoor Warning Sirens

TCC has two outdoor warning sirens on the main campus. Two additional sirens are located at the Pat Thomas Law Enforcement Academy. During an emergency event, TCC may choose to sound the sirens. The sirens' alert tones are very loud and distinct  and should be easily heard by anyone who is outdoors on TCC's main campus. Read more about TCC's outdoor warning sirens.

Computer Pop-up Messages

Through NetSupport Notify, a desktop messaging system, TCC can send emergency notification messages to all classroom, office and lab computers on campus.
