TCC Art Galleries
Tallahassee Community College began the gallery program in 1999 in a small space on the ground floor of what was then known as the Extended Studies Building.
Our gallery program has since grown to include two large exhibit spaces, the TCC Fine Art Gallery and the Ralph Hurst Gallery, located in the newly named Fine and Performing Arts Center, as well as a bourgeoning "Art Across Campus" program, bringing the visual arts to all corners of the campus.
The TCC Fine Art Gallery, renovated and expanded in 2005, now accommodates more than 600 linear feet of exhibit space and state of the art lighting and security. This gallery provides a venue for exciting and provocative exhibits.
The gallery showcases the work of TCC students, faculty and regional artists. Rotating exhibits run for 4-6 weeks throughout the year. Seven or more exhibits are mounted annually providing a wide range of visual experiences for our campus and community.
In 2004, TCC acquired the prestigious Ralph Hurst Collection through the generous donation of the late sculptor and educator Ralph Hurst and his wife Jean. A gallery was built to house this collection which resides in the lobby of the Fine & Performing Arts Building. The Ralph Hurst Gallery showcases our permanent collection which highlights the career of Ralph Hurst and includes, in addition to his work, the work of other notable artists such as our own Ruth Deshaies and Roland Hockett.
The Fine Art Gallery is open Monday thru Friday from 12:30 p.m. until 4:30 p.m.
Directions to the Art Gallery: Enter the main entrance of the Fine & Performing Arts Center. The Art Gallery is in Room 109.
