FORCE: Faculty Online Resource Center for Excellence

The Faculty Online Resource Center for Excellence, or FORCE, is an online clearinghouse that  provides important information all faculty members should know when teaching at TCC. It covers college policies and procedures, employment logistics and faculty support resources. FORCE details instructor roles and responsibilities, provides tips on teaching and course administration, lists information on campus services and resources for teaching and learning.

Center for Teaching, Learning and Leadership Library

The Center's library is located on the second floor of the Fine and Performing Arts Building, Room 215. There are teaching and learning resources available for review and or check out. These resources include newsletters, audio conferences, reference material and an array of DVDs and books.

Learning Communities

Learning Communities are groups of students and faculty who work collaboratively in an effort to deepen and enrich the learning experience. The Center for Teaching, Learning and Leadership provides information and assistance for faculty wanting to create learning communities for students. There are a number of models for creating learning communities, but currently at TCC, the most popular model is what is known as "linked classes" in which two classes are linked by an overarching theme. The instructors teaching the classes work together to prepare lessons, assignments, and activities that integrate the content and make the learning process more exciting and meaningful.

Collectively, the faculty exhibits many different effective teaching styles and strategies and has a wealth of experience and expertise. The Open Classroom provides opportunities to share ideas, strategies, teaching styles and delivery methods with colleagues. The Open Classroom is non-evaluative, voluntary, and collegial in nature.
