Faculty/Staff Passwords

TCC procedure requires users to change their password every 60 days. This page provides password tips and lists the campus systems that require a password in order to use the system. If you need help with changing or resetting your password, please contact the TCC Help Desk, 850.201.8540.

About Passwords

Change your password on a regular basis and anytime you suspect that someone may have discovered your password. Listed below are requirements and recommendations for passwords that promote safe computing:

Requirements

  • Passwords must be changed at least every 60 days
  • You may not use a password that you have previously used on the TCC network
  • Passwords must be at least 8 characters long
  • Not contain significant portions of the user's account name or full name
  • Passwords must include any 3 of the following:
    • At least one uppercase letter: A - Z
    • At least one lowercase letter: a - z
    • At least one digit: 0 - 9
    • At least one special character: ~ ` @ # $ % ^ & * ( ) + = \ | [ ] { } ? < >

Recommendations

  • Do not share your password with others
  • Do not write down your password

Network Resources

Your TCC eAccount provides access to Windows and Macintosh workstations, Outlook client, Entourage client and Webmail, EagleNet, Port, TCC Passport, and Blackboard. When you change your password, the change affects your access to each of these resources.

Frequency of Change: The first time you log on to a TCC Windows computer or Webmail, you will be forced to change your password. Thereafter, you are required to change your password at least every 60 days.

 

Changing Passwords

Through Webmail

You are required to change your TCC eAccount password at least every 60 days. Although you are changing the password in Webmail, it will apply to all actions that typically use your TCC eAccount password (e.g., accessing EagleNet and logging on to campus computers as well as accessing your email).

  1. From the toolbar, click OPTIONS  
    The Options  screen appears.
  2. From the Navigation  pane, click CHANGE PASSWORD
    The screen refreshes to display the Change Password  options.
  3. In the Old Password  text box, type your current password
  4. In the New Password  text box, type your new password
  5. To verify your new password, in the Confirm New Password  text box, type your new password
  6. On the toolbar, click SAVE  
    Your new password is applied and you are signed out of Webmail.
  7. To access your email account, sign in with your new password

Workstation

For Windows workstations only. &nbsp;For Macintosh workstations use Webmail.

You are required to change your TCC eAccount password at least every 60 days. Although you are changing the password on the workstation, it will apply to all actions that typically use your TCC eAccount password (e.g., accessing EagleNet and accessing your email as well as logging on to campus computers).

  1. Press [Ctrl ] + [Alt ] + [Delete ]
  2. Click CHANGE PASSWORD...
  3. In the Old Password  text box, type your current password
  4. In the New Password  text box, type your new password
  5. In the Confirm New Password  text box, type your new password  for verification
  6. Click OK

Additionally, as a reminder we will never ask for your password, birth date or related personal information via email. If you receive one of these emails please report it to the help desk. Most likely this is an attempt to gain access to your personal information from an unauthorized party.
