New Hire Processing

Every employee hired by Tallahassee Community College must establish his/her eligibility to work in the United States as required by U. S. Citizenship and Immigration Services and complete forms necessary for addition to our payroll system prior to, or on the first day of employment. To satisfy government regulations and College policy, each new employee must provide the following documentation:

Social Security Card - A copy of every employee's social security card is required by TCC policy. This documentation is based on the recommendation of the Internal Revenue Service Circular E.

In compliance with FL Statute 119.071(5), the document listed below serves as notification regarding the collection and use of your Social Security number.

Notification of Social Security Number Collection and Usage Form (pdf 21.59 kB)

Tallahassee Community College collects and uses your SSN only to perform the College  duties and responsibilities.  To protect your identity, TCC will maintain the privacy of your  SSN and never release it to unauthorized parties in compliance with state and federal laws.  The College assigns you a unique student/employee identification number which is used for  associated employment and educational purposes at TCC, including the access of your college records.

Government Issued Identification - One of the forms completed as part of the new-hire process is the State of Florida Oath of Loyalty. This form requires the notarized signature of the individual taking the oath, making the establishment of the identity of the signer essential.

I-9 Documentation - The Division of Homeland Security, U. S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) Employment Eligibility Verification Form (Form I-9) establishes the eligibility of an individual to work in the United States. Form I-9 must be completed by every employee and supported by appropriate documentation as established by the form itself. An individual's original social security card and identification may also be used to satisfy the requirements of this form. You may view and download the most recent list of acceptable I-9 documents on the USCIS Forms and Fees webpage.
