International Photo Calendars now on sale

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (October 16, 2008) – The photographical expertise of Tallahassee Community College students, faculty, staff and alumni were on display October 15 when the College’s International Student Organization (ISO) unveiled its annual International Photo Calendar.

The 12-month calendar is a year-long travel adventure filled with stunning images from around the world, all representing diversity of life, as captured by the “digital eyes” of the TCC community.

In September, ISO held its annual International Photo Contest, during which time members of the TCC community submitted photos from their various international experiences. This year’s contest generated a tremendous response, according to Betty Jensen, International Student Adviser, who said 96 photos were submitted for consideration.

A panel of judges, consisting of TCC faculty and staff, selected the top 24 photos, all of which were revealed on Wednesday and are featured in ISO’s 2009 International Photo Calendar. The calendar sale serves as one of ISO’s annual fund-raising efforts.

“We hope that by unveiling the calendar now, it will generate an increase in sales, which results in more funds for ISO scholarships,” said Jensen.

The winning photos are currently on display on the second floor of the Hinson Administration Building.

The following TCC faculty and staff served as judges for the international photo contest: Amber Brock, Chad Call, Barbara Edwards, Skip Greenfield, Mona Hamilton, Dana Peck, Rick Rice and Ranie Thompson.

The calendars, designed by Greenfield, are now on sale for $8. Calendars can be reserved by contacting Betty Jensen by phone, (850) 201-8457, or email jensenb@tcc.fl.edu.
