The International Student Organization (ISO) is a very active student organization on campus composed of international students from many different countries and American students interested in learning about other cultures. Additional information regarding international student admission process is available online (pdf 437.22 kB) .
Program Goals and Purpose:
- ISO brings students from all countries together to share their cultural, educational, and ethnic backgrounds with one another while at the same time acting as a support network.
- ISO contributes to the internationalization of our college by bringing global awareness activities for the students, faculty and staff. Also, by showcasing all the nations represented at TCC by our international students, ISO provides opportunities for the citizens in Tallahassee to learn about other cultures, thereby, promoting cultural understanding.
Program Outcomes:
By participating in ISO, students:
- Gain a deeper understanding of educational, cultural, and linguistic differences.
- Learn about cross-cultural fluency and the importance of building and promoting global awareness.
- Learn more about themselves by helping other students personally, emotionally, and academically.
- Learn about the advantages of participating in extra-curricular as well as volunteer activities.
- Have an opportunity to build leadership and communication skills to make themselves more marketable.
- Have an opportunity to add to their resume.
