Current and Upcoming Events

WELCOME TO A NEW AND EXCITING YEAR FOR TCC INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS!

In the next coming weeks, the ISS and ISO group will have several international and cultural events in which you can participate!  Please take a look at the following list of events for September and join us in our effort to promote diversity and culture on our campus!

1. International Student Welcome Reception: September 14, 2011 at 2:30pm in the Student Union Ballroom. 

This event is to welcome all of our new Fall 2011 International Students to our wonderful campus!  Join us in celebrating the diversity that they bring to our campus by learning about their nation, their language, and their customs.  Aside from this, a cultural challenge will take place and cake will be served.

2. 1st International Student Organization Meeting: September 15, 2011 at 2:30pm in the Student Union, room 193. 

The International Student Organization is a wonderful student run group in which all TCC students are welcome to join. Throughout the year, ISO participates in several community serivce, volunteer, and cultural activities that promote unity among our students, diversity on our campus, and leadership in our peers.  Please come out and see what great events ISO has planned for this semester and be prepared to learn new things, make new friends, and become a member of something that will impact you for life!

3. ISO/ISS dinner get together: September 16, 2011 at 6pm at the Curry Pot on Betton Rd. 

To continue this week of events, please join the ISS/ISO group this Friday at the Curry Pot where we will have a dinner get together for all new and old ISO members.  The Curry Pot is an Indian Resturant off of Thomasville Rd. where you can experience the wonderful flavors of Indian.  More information will be provided at the ISO meeting on the 15th, so be sure that you attend!

4. ISO Marianna Caverns Trip: September 17, 2011

Just to round off this week of exciting ISS/ISO events, the group is taking its first field trip this Saturday!  Every Fall, ISO journeys to Marianna Caverns to experience the beauty and awe of these spectacular caverns.  This trip helps to bulid unity and togetherness within the group.  Again, the sign-up sheets, travel arrangements, and other details will be provided at the meeting on the 15th.

5. Good to Great TCC Community Event: TCC from 10am to 4 pm

TCC's campus will be open to the public and offer something for everyon in the family -tours, entertainment, professional workshops, demonstrations, food, games presentations, live music, and oodles of prizes.  The ISO students will be out here being part of the general exitement, so please join us and sign up to volunteer at the ISO meeting!

6. ISS/ISO Calendar Photo Contest: deadline is Friday, September 30th.

Every year ISS/ISO creates a wonderful cultural calendar which displays the winng photos from the Calendar Photo Contest.  If you have photos which you believe deserve to be displayed and are worthy of sharing with everyone, please consider entering this contest.  Your photo might just be featured in the ISS/ISO calendar which several members of our community purchase as gifts, mementos, and just for display!  Stop by the office for more information.
