Early Alert Progress Reports

Tallahassee Community College is committed to promoting student success. In order to provide new students timely feedback on their academic performance in a course, the College has created an early alert progress reports system. Students in all college preparatory courses, the College Success courses, and new students who have not earned 18 college credit hours will be provided this feedback from their instructors.

The early alert message tells students whether they are performing satisfactorily or if they need improvement in a course. If a student needs improvement, the instructor will let them know if it is because of poor attendance, poor test scores, or missed assignments. Instructors can also submit additional comments or feedback to the students.

Early alerts are submitted for all college preparatory courses and the College Success courses in week three of each main term. All other alerts are provided in week five of each main term. Students should monitor their early alerts and seek out available assistance through their instructors and other campus resources.

Early Alert Summer 2012 May Main (10 week) Session Dates

For May Main session College Preparatory and College Success Courses (SLS0003 and SLS1510):

  • Early Alert window opens on Friday, May 18 at 8:00 a.m. and closes on Sunday, May 27 at midnight

For all other May Main session courses:

  • Early Alert window opens on Friday, June 1 at 8:00 a.m. and closes on Sunday, June 10 at midnight
