Theatre TCC!

Glass Menagerie

TheatreTCC! and The Fine and Performing Arts have shattered attendance records over the past years and continue to offer more quality performances than ever before. Join us this season as we once again bring unforgettable musicals, drama, and family shows to the Tallahassee community!

The 2009-2010 season opens October 8 with Tallahassee's first licensed production of Jonathan Larson's Broadway hit Rent. Winner of the 1996 Tony Award for Best Musical, as well as a Pulitzer Prize for Drama, Rent tells the story of a group of impoverished young artists and musicians struggling with life, love and AIDS in New York's Lower East Side.

Adding both suspense and laughter to our season is Ira Levin's highly popular Deathtrap, in which Broadway playwright with writer's block puts murder in his plan to take credit for a student's scripts. In April, join TheatreTCC's colorful cast of hobbits, trolls, dwarves, and goblins as we proudly present an original stage adaption of J.R.R. Tolkien's The Hobbit.

Finally, to better serve Tallahassee's growing cultural community, the 2009-10 season will also debut TheatreTCC's expansion into a summer program with Pearl Cleage's powerful drama, Blues for an Alabama Sky.

There's no denying the growth of the arts at Tallahassee Community College! Through the ongoing work of the Foundation, continuing growth of ticket sales, and generous corporate and private support, we provide nearly thirty students with annual scholarships that allow them to explore their artistic dreams. We gather the best directors, designers, technicians, and actors from around the region to produce high quality entertainment. When you add a comfortable theatre and great value it's easy to see why our productions have become "must -see" events amongst Tallahassee's varied cultural attractions.
