Student Success Initiatives
Scholarships
Scholarships reward student success and can help guarantee that no deserving student is turned away from a career in health care just because he or she couldn’t afford the tuition.
With the immense need for well trained health care professionals, TCC wants to ensure that every student is given an opportunity to succeed. TCC’s scholarships assist tomorrow’s nurses, paramedics, therapists, dental professionals and technicians. Scholarships serve as an investment in the community and its continued ability to provide quality health care.
Quality health care for you and me depends upon a sufficient and well trained workforce. TCC aims not only to provide an ample supply of health care workers, but to ensure that graduates are prepared in the best possible way to meet workforce demands.
Student Support
To be successful in college, students need more than just a seat in the classroom.
On its main campus, TCC provides a variety of critical support services to help students get the most of out of their education. One such resource is the William D. Law, Jr. Learning Commons. The Learning Commons is a comprehensive center that offers students one-on-one academic assistance, group tutoring sessions, supplemental resources, technology support and career guidance.
Furthermore, TCC is expanding its support programs for students enrolled in online programs. This will help provide students with academic assistance through digital avenues when they are not in the classroom.
These support initiatives will help students achieve their academic and professional goals. Our reinvigorated efforts will streamline enrollment, improve remediation services, reduce attrition, and increase graduation rates for a new generation of health care professionals.
Instructional Excellence
TCC prides itself on its excellent faculty. As the need for quality health care becomes more and more important, it is incumbent upon the College to ensure that our long history of instructional excellence is maintained.
Along with sufficient access to clinical sites, the ability to attract and retain highly qualified health care professionals as college faculty is one of the biggest challenges in health care education.
Quality instructors are the strong foundation for students’ education, preparing graduates to serve professionally in the community. The College must both attract and retain outstanding and passionate educators, and provide the professional development resources necessary for faculty to enhance their teaching skills.
