Florida Green Academy

The Florida Green Academy (FGA) is a dynamic training center dedicated to existing and emerging "green" occupations and industries, such as energy, construction, and transportation. Currently, FGA is focusing on the following broad areas:

1. Alternative energy
2. Energy efficiency in buildings and construction
3. Environmental management
4. Sustainability practices

Developing a Green Workforce

TCC is among the two-year institutions of higher learning that are at the forefront of this growing momentum for green workforce development. The college has successfully established training programs for solar hot water systems installation, photovoltaic systems installation, and weatherization installation. These programs were developed in collaboration with powerful partners including the Florida Solar Energy Center (FSEC) at the University of Central Florida and renewable energy industry businesses.

  • Wind Energy Professional

NABCEP

Tallahassee Community College is a provider of the North American Board of Certified Energy Professionals (NABCEP) PV Entry Level Training and Exam. The NABCEP PV Entry Level program is designed for those individuals wanting to get into the solar photovoltaic field.

Successful completion of the nationally-recognized NABCEP PV Entry Level Exam allows for candidates to demonstrate that they have achieved a basic knowledge of the fundamental principles of the application, design, installation and operation of PV systems.
