April 15, 2024

The Tallahassee Community College Brain Bowl team took home second place at the Florida College System Activities Association (FCSAA) State Tournament held in Gainesville, Florida. The team was comprised of Joshua Adams, Camden Hulme, Grace Toole Duncan, and Orchid Watkins.

Additionally, Camden Hulme secured seventh place overall, Grace Toole Duncan took home eighth place, Orchid Watkins placed tenth, and Josh Adams placed fifteenth.

Brain Bowl is a competitive, academic, interscholastic activity for teams of four students. Teams use buzzers to answer questions about science, math, history, literature, mythology, geography, social science, current events, sports, and popular culture. The matches feature a blend of individual competition and team collaboration since no individual player is likely to be an expert in all subject areas. Participation reinforces lessons from the classroom and encourages players to develop new intellectual interests.
