Celebrate MLK National Day of Service in Tallahassee

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (January 16, 2013) - Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. once said, "Life's most persistent and urgent question is: 'What are you doing for others?'"

Each year, Americans across the country answer that question by coming together on the King Holiday to serve their neighbors and communities.

The MLK Day of Service is a part of United We Serve, the President's national call to service initiative. It calls for Americans from all walks of life to work together to provide solutions to our most pressing national problems.

Five years ago, Tallahassee Housing Authority partnered with FSU JumpStart and others to initiate MLK Day of Service. Community members are asked to join in giving back to the community.
When: Martin Luther King, Jr. Day – January 21, 2013, 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.
Where: Springfield Community Center, Tallahassee, Florida
