TCC announces new human resources certification courses

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (August 8, 2013) – Tallahassee Community College's Division of Workforce Development has announced new human resource certification courses. The courses target current professionals and job-seekers who wish to increase their human resource knowledge, and provide an opportunity for them to earn their Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification.

The courses are offered in partnership with the Society for Human Resource Management. The curriculum was designed by subject matter experts and covers the 2013 HR Certification Institute’s body of knowledge, which is the #1 PHR/SPHR certification preparation program.

The instructor-led courses will help participants to become more valuable employees, give them an advantage when applying for new jobs, and expand their knowledge and understanding of the HR profession.

The courses will be taught at the TCC Capitol Center and will run from September 10 to October 17, 2013. Registration is now open. The price for the preparatory course will be $995. After the course is completed, participants will decide which exam, the PHR or the SPHR, to sit in on.

“Human resources certification is a vital, distinguishing skill to have in the private and public sectors," said Kimberly Moore, vice president for workforce development. "We are glad to expand our training with these courses and to meet the needs of working professionals."
