TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (January 6, 2013)
– Tallahassee Community College’s Florida Green Academy is now offering the
North American Board of Certified Energy Professionals Photovoltaic (NABCEP PV)
entry-level certificate of knowledge.
The course will be offered at the
TCC Advanced Manufacturing Training Center, 3958 West Pensacola Street. Classes
will begin on January 21 through February 13, Mondays through Thursdays from 6
to 9 p.m., and Saturdays from 8 a.m. – noon. The cost for the course is $299.
The entry-level program is designed
for those individuals wanting to enter the solar photovoltaic field. The
certificate is a 52-hour course based on the Florida Solar Energy Center’s
‘Solar Photovoltaics’ training curriculum. The certificate of knowledge is an
important first step in preparing individuals to become highly skilled,
qualified and experienced tradespersons and professionals in the PV industry.
After successful completion of the
course, students are qualified to take the nationally industry-recognized NABCEP
PV entry-level exam (offered separately at a cost of $150) which allows
candidates to demonstrate they have achieved a basic knowledge of the
fundamental principles of the application, design, installation and operation
of PV systems.
Students can register for the course
and/or exam at eaglenet.tcc.fl.edu.
