AMTC offers Lean Concepts course

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (August 8, 2014) – Tallahassee Community College’s Advanced Manufacturing Training Center will offer a Lean Concepts course from September 16 to November 6.

The goal of the course is to provide students with a purposeful understanding of the Lean Principles. Lean culture seeks to identify and eliminate wasteful practices in a process-driven workplace.

The course is open for registration. Employed workers, manufacturing professionals and individuals in process-driven organizations are encouraged to register.

The Lean Concepts course prepares a student to sit for the Bronze Level Lean body of knowledge certification exam offered by the Society of Manufacturing Engineers. Key topics include cultural enablers, continuous process improvement, consistent Lean culture and impact of Lean on business results.

The non-credit course is led by an instructor via live-stream and will meet Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6 to 9 p.m.

The AMTC is located on the southwest corner of the main TCC campus at 3958 West Pensacola Street. The facility offers cutting-edge training for high-skill and emerging manufacturing processes. Additional courses will be offered throughout the year.
