Supervisor of Office and Administrative Workers

Supervisors of office and administrative workers plan or supervise support staff to ensure that they can work efficiently. After allocating work assignments and issuing deadlines, office and administrative supervisors oversee the work to ensure that it is proceeding on schedule and meeting established quality standards.

Work Conditions

Most supervisors of office and administrative workers work in a typical office setting. Most supervisors work a standard 40-hour week.

Employment Outlook

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of supervisors of office and administrative workers is expected to grow 14 percent from 2010 to 2020, as fast as the average for all occupations. Continuing advances in technology should increase office and administrative support workers' productivity and allow a wider variety of tasks to be performed by people in professional positions.
