Participating Districts

 

The GEAR UP program provides services to some of the state’s highest need high schools and their feeder middle schools. All school feeder patterns have at least 75% eligibility for Free & Reduced Lunch (FRL). Over 8,600 students will be served in targeted middle and high school feeder patterns in north Florida.

 

The following districts and schools are participating in the GEAR UP program:

 
 
 

 Leon County Schools

 

 

Leon County SchoolsLeon County in Tallahassee, Florida provides a full educational program is offered to 33,000 students in forty-eight school and program sites. These include preschool, elementary (PreK-5), middle school (6-8), high school (9-12) and special district wide program centers for specific populations of all ages and ability levels.

R. Frank Nims Middle School (NIMS) serves grades 6-8 in the Leon County Public Schools district in Tallahassee, Florida. 
 
As a recently certified AVID demonstration school, James S. Rickards High School serves grades 9-12 providing students with a caring, supportive learning environment that allows them to reach their maximum potential through quality programs, instruction and experiences.
 
 

 FAMU DRS

 

famu_seal.jpgFAMU Developmental Research School (FAMU DRS) is a public school district affiliated with the Florida A&M University and located on its campus. The school serves approximately 500 students in kindergarten through twelfth grade. The school is designed as a special school district under Florida Department of Education funding and is given the responsibility to develop innovative solutions to educational concerns in the state and to disseminate successful instructional programs to other school districts. 

 

 Jefferson County Schools

 

JCSLogoVert.jpgJefferson County School District  is a public district located in Monticello, Florida.  Educational programs are offered to students at two sites: Jefferson County Elementary (PreK-5) and Jefferson County Middle High School (6-12) currently serving over 1,000 students.  Jefferson County Schools sets their goal to goal to actively involve parents, staff, and the community in helping us educate the students of Jefferson County.

 

Jefferson County Middle High School serves grades 6-12 in the Jefferson County School district in Monticello, Florida.

 

 Putnam School District

 

PUTNAM.jpgPutnam County School District provides 22 schools for students in grades K-12 throughout the Putnam County area in Northeast Florida.  Putnam County School District focuses on the effort to help students achieve by utilizing collective resources that are based on Engagement, Safety and Performance (ESP).

Crescent City Jr. Sr. High School serves middle and high school students in grades 7-12 in the Putnam County School District in Crescent City, Florida.

Palatka High School serves high school students in grades 9-12 in the Putnam County School District in Palatka, Florida.

 Nassau County Schools

 

Nassau County Logo.bmpNassau County Schools is located in Fernandina Beach, Florida with 16 schools providing educational programs to students in grades K-12.  Nassau County School District sets out to develop each student as an inspired life-long learner and problem-solver with the strength of character to serve as a productive member of society.

 

West Nassau County High School serves high school students in grades 9-12 in the Nassau County School District in Callahan, Florida.

 

 Levy County Schools

 

 

sblc-logo.pngLevy County School Board is located in Bronson, Florida and serves a student population of approximately 6,200 students in grades Pre-K through 12. Throughout the years, Levy County has had the opportunity to employ dedicated administrators, teachers, support personnel, and parental and business support which has contributed greatly to the success of students.
 
 

Bronson Middle High School serves middle and high school students in grades 6-12 in the Levy County School District in Bronson, Florida.

Chiefland MIddle High School serves high school students in grades 6-12 in the Levy County School District in Chiefland, Florida.​

 

 Columbia County Schools

 

Columbia_FL.gifLocated in Lake City, Florida, Columbia County School District approximately 9,908 students throughout 16 schools in grades PreK-12. The educational programs provided by CCSD are designed to create a safe, orderly learning environment conducive to the preparation of highly motivated students and ultimately prepare students to be successful in their career/technical training or higher education and in the workplace.

 

Columbia High School serves high school students in grades 9-12 in the Columbia County School District in Lake City, Florida.
