9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

The purpose of the Raider Nation Summer Institute is to prepare incoming ninth graders to be academically and socially ready for success in the high school setting. We believe scholars need a thorough induction into the JSRHS culture and climate, prior to the start of the 9th grade year. Research details the importance of ninth grade success and how that initial success impacts high school graduation and student motivation. The Institute aims to help young adolescents make the successful transition into JSRHS by presenting them with academic/social high school preparation material and college awareness and readiness materials. The Institute will be the beginning of a healthy dialogue between high school educators/administrators and parents/students, so that the Raider Nation participants experience a seamless conversion between schools and gain early awareness/readiness for successful post-secondary education.  For more information, please contact Coach Shanika Mungin at (850) 488-1783, ext. 1414 or by e-mail at Mungins@leonschools.net.
