Advanced and Specialized Training

The Florida Public Safety Institute serves state law enforcement agencies, the Department of Corrections, and numerous county, and municipal agencies and their officers. FPSI provides the advanced and specialized training on a continuing basis to enhance officer's skills and improve their knowledge. The institute is certified by the Florida Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission to deliver all Commission-approved curricula to law enforcement, correctional, and correctional probation officers in Florida. Courses offered vary from Interviews and Interrogations course to Field Training Officer course to instructor courses.

Prior to attending any advanced, specialized, or instructor course that CJSTC regulates, permission must be obtained from the officer's or support staff's agency. Officers should go through their training staff or other representative from their agency to make contact with academy staff for region trust fund training.

Some of our courses require a Salary Incentive Form (.pdf) that will need to be submitted to staff on the first day of the course.
