Photogrammetry (40 Hrs.)                                         

The student will learn how to use the iWitnessTM close-range photogrammetry software for 2D (two-dimension) and 3D (three-dimension) modeling with emphasis on crash scene diagramming and vehicle crush measurements from digital images. The student will learn to calibrate a digital SLR camera in iWitnessTM. The student will be required to participate in field exercises using outdoor staged scenes of increasing complexity. The student will process the scene photographs and export the final product to CAD. This course also consists of nighttime scene work.

​To attend this training, the participant must be a Florida law enforcement officer who's duties include the investigation of traffic crashes or support of crash investigators.

 What Should I Bring?

​Student needs a computer with the iWitness software and security dongle installed, a digital camera ( minimum 5 mega pixel resolution) capable of manual operation and a tripod.

 What are the Expenses?

​Tuition for this training is provided through a grant, so there is no cost to students or their agency. Housing and meals are provided onsite at no cost when the training is offered onsite at the Florida Public Safety Institute and the student will be traveling from out of town.
