Supervising DUI Enforcement

This course is designed to familiarize the supervisor with the problem of DUI and the solutions used to reduce the number of impaired drivers. The student will be introduced to the resources that are available and will learn how to become a part of the network of professionals dedicated to impacting the DUI problem. Course topics will include:

  • Research methods
  • Grants and Resources
  • Sustained Enforcement Efforts
  • Planning Saturation Patrols and Checkpoints
  • Gathering and Validating Data
  • Educational Programs
  • Florida Laws and Case Review
  • DUI Crash Investigations
  • Role of the Supervisor
  • Record Keeping

​Attendee must be a certified Florida Law Enforcement Officer or Assistant State Attorney currently employed in the Florida Criminal Justice System.

During training, the student is expected to attend the entire class. Absence for any reason must be approved by the instructor and make up work needs to be completed on the students own time. The maximum time that may be made up is 10%. If more than 10% is missed, the student will be withdrawn from training.


 What Should I Bring?

​All materials will be provided for this course.

 What are the Expenses?

​Tuition for this training is provided through a grant, so there is no cost to you or your agency. Housing and meals are provided onsite at no cost when the training is offered onsite at the Florida Public Safety Institute and you will be traveling from out of town.
