Security Officer Courses

Pursuant to Florida Statute 493, security officers are to be licensed. The Florida Public Safety Institute provides the courses for students to then seek their license through the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.

For officers seeking licensure, please contact Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. The Florida Public Safety Institute does not provide the license. The Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Division of Licensing, is the regulatory division where applications must be submitted. You may contact them at (850) 245-5691.

For more information, please see our Frequently Asked Questions.
