CNC Machine Training

TCC offers the CNC Machine Operator program, which consists of three courses; Introduction to CNC Machining, CNC Machining Level 2, and Mastercam.  Persons that successfully complete all courses in the CNC Machine Operator Program will be awarded a program completion certificate from TCC.  Students will also be prepared to sit for the National Institute for Metalworking Skills (NIMS) assessments for CNC Lathe Operator and CNC Mill Operator credentials.
TCC offers Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Machining classes using various learning methods to increase your understanding and skill, which include classroom instructor time and hands-on manufacturing and programming labs. TCC has a 6,000 sqft manufacturing simulator lab that replicates a manufacturing facility so that the learning experience is complete and prepares our students to be confident CNC Machine Operators. These are non-credit courses.
Assistance may be available for persons that are currently unemployed to cover tuition and other associated program fees

Mastercam Course Description MASTERCAM: CNC Mill Design & Toolpaths course takes students from square one to successfully programming parts to be machined on a CNC mill. Each of the five modules builds on the last and offers a module review to help you advance. The course includes:

  • Mastercam environment and basic general functions

  • Wireframe and solid modeling functions and their application through a series of specific applications-based exercises

  • Part setup and demonstrate fundamental Mastercam toolpaths

  • 2D high speed machining

  • Feature Based Machining (FBM) used to automatically detect and generate all milling and drilling operations for solid model features

This is an online course with Mastercam University. Student will be awarded the Mastercam Associate Level credential upon successful completion of this course. Student will have six months to complete this course.
