Healthcare Information Management

CAHIMS is an entry-level certification for people interested in the growing field of healthcare information and management systems. The student is responsible for paying for and scheduling the CAHIMS exam.
HIV and Blood Borne Pathogens

This course is designed to teach you about a variety of blood borne pathogens, modes of infection, safety procedures to be observed when dealing with possible blood borne pathogens, how to counsel people infected with blood borne pathogens and more. This HIV and Bloodborne Pathogens overview on-line course meets the standards found in Florida Statue - Chapter 381.0035 for a variety of direct care including those individuals employed or subcontracted through the State of Florida - for Persons' with Disabilities (APD) and other human service employees. This course can also provide a foundation of knowledge related to HIV and Bloodborne Pathogens to other occupations such as police officers, correctional officers, mental health workers, non-medical care takers, and others. This course is not intended to substitute for a medical HIV and Bloodborne Pathogen course for healthcare workers.

Insurance: 04-40 Registered Customer Service Representative Pre-Licensing

This course is approved by the Florida Department of Financial Services for licensure as a Registered Customer Service Representative (RCSR), and is equivalent to the 4-40 license. This course will allow you the opportunity to work at your own pace with your instructor available via e-mail or telephone. In the course you'll be exposed to various phases of property casualty insurance, health insurance, agency operations and good customer service are among the topics studied.
After completing this course, you will receive a certificate of completion which allows you to apply to the Department of Financial Services for your 4-40 license. Completion of this course waives the student from taking the state licensure exam.

OSHA 24 Hour Hazardous Waste Operator

This 24 hour on-line course is designed for hazardous waste and emergency response workers who must satisfy their 24-hour HAZWOPER training requirement and is intended for the following: new employees, hazardous materials technicians, hazardous materials specialists, on-scene incident commanders, management and supervisors, or anyone needing to fulfill a 24-hour HAZWOPER requirement. Course topics include: agencies & regulations, toxicology, types of hazards, hazard communication, levels of protection, respirators, detecting hazardous materials, hazardous waste, confined spaces, fall protection, decontamination, site safety planning, and site emergencies. Students will have 360 days to complete the training package and will receive a University of South Florida OSHA Training Institute certificate upon successful completion.
OSHA 30 Site Safety for General Industry

This 30 hour on-line General Industry outreach program is a comprehensive safety program designed for persons involved in industries such as; health care, manufacturing, warehousing/ distribution and retail. This program is recommended for supervisors or anyone with safety responsibilities, or as an orientation to occupational safety and health for workers. At the successful completion of this course you will be provided with an OSHA 30 Hour General Industry card.
