Meet the IS Staff

International Services is a one-stop “hub” for international students. Our office acts as the center for all international admissions, F-1 visa immigration and academic advising as well as the assisting students with other visa types. IS sponsors the award winning International Student Organization known as the “home away from home.” The staff in International Services is incredibly friendly and is always ready to help where they are needed:
In addition, International Services also hosts several events each year to help with globalization efforts at TCC and to raise money for international student scholarships. These events include the International Photo Competition and Calendar, the Bringing the World to TCC , International Education Week in the fall, and the International Festival in the spring.

Hello, Hola, Bonjour, Olà, GutenTag, Ciao, Ni Hao, Marhaba, Salam, Namaste……. I am responsible for the functions of the International Services Office ranging from international admissions, immigration and academic advising to cultural programming.  I came to TCC about 25 years ago and have had the privilege to work with amazing international students the last 20!  What I’ve learned from them through the years has made me a much richer and a more globally-aware citizen of the world.  I have also learned about other cultures through extensive travel which in turn has helped me in understanding my students in a deeper sense and inspiring a greater passion for assisting them to be successful at TCC.  If you are a student looking for a college to call home, I hope you decide to join the TCC family! I am very proud of the wide array of support services available here at Tallahassee Community College. Rest assured that at this institution, your success would be our priority!

¡Hola! My parents are Chinese, but I was born and raised in Panama.  Sí, yo hablo español. I am a proud TCC and FSU alumni. While in college I had the opportunity to study abroad to Europe and China.  These experiences shaped my college experience so much and opened my eyes into a very different way of approaching learning.  Throughout my career, I have been very fortunate to work with students since 2006.  In my previous role, I assisted students with their career needs and provided them with internship opportunities.  I look forward to helping international student with their admissions, immigration, academic and cultural needs.  TCC is a great place for international students – with high academic standards and a globalized campus.  We can help you achieve your goals.

Born to a Dominican father and a Russian-Czech-Peruvian-Cuban mother, you could say I am a member of a pretty cultured family. I was born in the Dominican Republic and have had many opportunities to travel throughout my life. My love for international relations and education ignited during junior high school while I was a student ambassador in Australia. While in college, I was able to travel to France to teach English and found that the immersion in another culture was invaluable for my personal and professional growth. I have a B.A. in International Affairs from Florida State University and an M.A. in Public Policy – Middle East Affairs from Liberty University. I am a native Spanish speaker and fluent in French. At Tallahassee Community College, I am dedicated to international recruitment, working with prospective international students and sharing the incredible opportunity to study at TCC. I am inspired by the culture of support and community for our international students here at TCC and would love the opportunity to assist you as you make the very important decision to come to study in the United States. I look forward to answering all of your questions and having you become part of the TCC family!

I am Dominican and Cuban, raised in Florida. I am studying International Law and Politics and already have my A.A from TCC. I love learning about different traditions and customs and about the diversity of our students. I think that sometimes we are so caught up in our own personal circles and lives that we do not see the Diversity around us; it is such an important role in our lives because not only helps us grow as individuals but it also cultures our life. Our students have taught me so many things from their cultures, that have made me appreciate more their values and believes. Please stop by anytime if you have any question about our TCC family or anything that I can help you with.

I am originally from South Florida, where I have been exposed to many different cultures. I loved being able to see and learn about different cultures almost everywhere I went. This sparked my interest in studying International Affairs.  I received my bachelor’s degree in International Affairs from Florida State University and am currently pursuing my Master’s degree in International Affairs there as well. I love working here at the International Student Services because I love to help people.  Working here has allowed me to get to know and help students make their transition to living in America as easy as possible. Please stop by any time and I will help you in any way that I can.
