About the ISS Office and Staff

While International Student Services is a small office, it helps a lot of students. Currently ISS acts as the center for all international admissions, F-1 immigration advising, academic advising for international and permanent resident students, as well as houses and advises the International Student Organization.   The staff of ISS is incredibly friendly and is always ready to help where they are needed:

On top of all of its other roles, ISS also hosts several events each year to help with internationalization efforts on campus and to raise money for international student scholarships. These events include the International Photo Competition and Calendar, Bringing the World to TCC, International Education Week in the Fall, and the International Festival in the Spring.

The staff of ISS is incredibly friendly and is always ready to help where they are needed:

Hello, Hola, Bonjour, Olà, GutenTag, Ciao, Ni Hao, Marhaba, Salam, Namaste……. I am responsible for the functions of the International Services Office ranging from international admissions, immigration and academic advising to cultural programming.  I came to TCC about 25 years ago and have had the privilege to work with amazing international students the last 20!  What I’ve learned from them through the years has made me a much richer and a more globally-aware citizen of the world.  I have also learned about other cultures through extensive travel which in turn has helped me in understanding my students in a deeper sense and inspiring  a greater passion for assisting them to be successful at TCC.  If you are a student looking for a college to call home, I hope you decide to join the TCC family! I am very proud of the wide array of support services available here at Tallahassee Community College. Rest assured that at this institution, your success would be our priority!

I am Dominican and Cuban, raised in Florida. I am studying International Law and Politics and already have my A.A from TCC. I love learning about different traditions and customs and about the diversity of our students. I think that sometimes we are so caught up in our own personal circles and lives that we do not see the Diversity around us; it is such an important role in our lives because not only helps us grow as individuals but it also cultures our life. Our students have taught me so many things from their cultures, that have made me appreciate more their values and believes. Please stop by anytime if you have any question about our TCC family or anything that I can help you with.

I am originally from South  Florida, where I have been exposed to many different cultures. I loved being able to see and learn about different cultures almost everywhere I went. This sparked my interest in studying International Affairs.  I received my bachelor’s degree in International Affairs from Florida State University and am currently pursuing my Master’s degree in International Affairs there as well. I love working here at the International Student Services because I love to help people.  Working here has allowed me to get to know and help students make their transition to living in America as easy as possible. Please stop by any time and I will help you in any way that I can.
