Exchange Visitor Program


 
 
International Student Services is proud to announce TCC's designation to receive J-1 visa international students, scholars, and faculty.  As part of the effort to internationalize the campus and create more opportunities for those abroad who wish to study or work in academia in the United States, TCC will now be able to extend offers to:

 Professors

 

As a professor, J-1 visa holders will have the ability to work in the United States while being able observe the U.S. higher education system first hand at TCC. Through their own experience and knowledge, J-1 professors will be able to foster the exchange of ideas and stimulate an invaluable learning experience to their U.S. students.

Please note that Professors are responsible for their own airfare, living expenses, and insurance.

If you are interested in becoming a J-1 Professor at TCC, please contact the International Student Services office.

 

 Specialists

 

J-1 Specialists help to promote the interchange of knowledge and skills between themselves and their U.S. counterparts at TCC. Specialists should be considered experts in their field of knowledge or skills, and would be allowed to teach, lecture, observe, consult, or demonstrate their skills at TCC. These exchanges also help Specialists to better understand U.S. culture and society while creating a better understanding of their home country and customs.

Please note that Specialists are responsible for their own airfare, living expenses, and insurance.

If you are interested in becoming a J-1 Specialist at TCC, please contact the International Student Services office.

 

 Short-Term Scholars

 

With a Short-Term Scholar designation, participants would be able to observe TCC's classes and facilities, while sharing their own knowledge base for a period up to 6 months. In this way each Scholar would be able to return with enhanced skills in their area of focus, while providing TCC with new ideas and perspectives.

 Students

 

J-1 students have a lot of versatility in how they may study at TCC. J-1 students could come for a 1 month intensive English language program, a 1 semester exchange from their current school, or could complete a training program through our Workforce Development.

Please note that the majority of your funding must come from an institutional or governmental source.

If you are an institution outside of the United States and would like to create a specific program to send students to Tallahassee Community College for an exchange program, please contact the International Student Services office.
