State Board of Education Rules
Residency for Tuition Purposes. The purpose of this rule is to establish consistent policies for the classification of students as residents for tuition purposes in accordance with criteria set forth in Section 1009.21, F.S. This rule addresses both the initial and residency reclassification determinations.
Florida Residency as a Requirement for the Receipt of State Student Aid. Students that attend a Florida postsecondary educational institution must show eligibility to receive funds from state student financial assistance programs by proving Florida residency as outlined in 1009.21, F.S.
Out-of-State Fee Waiver for Select Florida High School Graduates
House Bill 851 amended s. 1009.26, Florida Statutes, Fee Waivers, to authorize an out-of-state fee waiver for select students who attended a high school in Florida. This legislation took effect on July 1, 2014, and is applicable for fall 2014 and thereafter. Out-of-State Fee Waiver for Veterans
House Bill 7015 amended s. 1009.26, Florida Statutes, Fee Waivers, and created the Congressman C.W. Bill Young Veteran Tuition Waiver Program. This legislation took effect on July 1, 2014, applicable for fall 2014 and thereafter, and authorized an out-of-state fee waiver for honorably discharged veteran of the United States Armed Forces, United States Reserve Forces or the National Guard who physically resides in Florida.
