Accounting

The Flagler Accounting program prepares students for a variety of successful careers, professional growth, and for admission to prestigious graduate programs. The courses are carefully selected to ensure a strong foundation in accounting, business administration, marketing, financial management, money and banking, economics, and computing. Accounting classes are only offered in the evening and can be completed in five semesters.
 

Prerequisites:

An Associate of Arts Degree (AA)  that includes the following courses:
 
6 Credit hours Mathematics
  • College Algebra (MAC1105)
  • Statistics             (STA2023)
3 Credit hours Speech Communication
  • Fundamentals of Interpersonal Communication (SPC1017)

       OR

  • Public Speaking (SPC2608)
3 Credit hours Accounting​
  • Financial Accounting (ACG2021)
 

 Business Administration

 

Business Administration

The Business Administration program sets the stage for students to obtain leadership and management roles in the corporate world. The program encompasses a variety of courses in economics, business law, accounting, marketing, and management. The seasoned faculty provides real-world industry experience and professional networking opportunities. Students completing this program will earn a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Business Administration. Day students  complete the program in four semesters, and evening students will require five semesters for program completion.
 

Prerequisites:

An Associate of Arts Degree (AA) that includes the following courses:
 
6 Credit hours Mathematics
  • College Algebra (MAC1105)
  • Statistics             (STA2023)
3 Credit hours Speech Communication
  • Fundamentals of Interpersonal Communication (SPC1017)

       OR

  • Public Speaking (SPC2608)

Education

Flagler College Tallahassee offers the following programs in Education 
  • Elementary Education
  • Elementary Education/Exceptional Student Education
 
The Elementary Education program provides the foundation for classroom management and organization techniques that will prepare students for a rewarding career in education.  Flagler’s hands on approach starts the first semester with practicum placement in the schools where they can apply the concepts they have learned in the classroom. The coursework and training culminates with a full time internship. The Flagler programs include a Reading and ESOL endorsement and graduates are eligible for certification in the state of Florida.
 
*** The Florida Department of Education requires that all Education majors who began as college freshmen during or after Fall 2001 meet additional general education requirements. Please see appropriate prerequisite category below or contact the Admissions Office at (850) 201-8070 for additional information.
 

Prerequisites:  ***Students who started college after fall 2001

An Associate of Arts Degree (AA)  that includes the following courses:
 
Nine credit hours Mathematics including:
  •   Liberal Arts I (MGF1106)

And any two classes from the four below:

  •     Liberal Arts 2(MGF1107)
  •     College Algebra(MAC1105)
  •     Statistics (STA2023)
  •     Business Calculus (MAC2233)

Six credit hours of Social Science chosen from the following two areas

  • American Experience I & II (AMH1041 & AMH1050)

       OR

  • U.S History I & II (AMH2010 & AMH2020)

Three credit hours Speech Communication

  • Fundamentals of Interpersonal Communication (SPC1017)

       OR

  • Public Speaking (SPC2068)

Six credit hours of Education Classes

  •  Child Development (CHD2220)
  •  Introduction to Education (EDF1005)
 
 

Prerequisites:  ***Students who started college in the fall of 2001 or before

An Associate of Arts Degree (AA)  that includes the following courses:
 

Three credit hours Speech Communication (SPC 1017 or SPC2068)

Three credit hours Child Development (CHD2220)

Three Credit hours Introduction to Education (EDF1005)

All Day Program - Elementary Education majors will be required to complete ESL 315, Cross Cultural Communications, during their first summer of enrollment at Flagler College-Tallahassee
