Physical Plant, Facilities Planning & Construction

The purpose of the Department is to provide a superior physical environment to support the educational mission of the College, accomplished through innovative planning, quality construction, and pro-active maintenance and upkeep of College facilities.

Tallahassee Community College is a leader in the Florida College System in the amount of facilities held. The College has 85 buildings with approximately 1,687,254 gross square feet. The facilities are situated on 6 campuses with a total land area of 1,516 acres which is equivalent to more than 3 square miles.
 
Our facilities include:
 

 Main Campus

 

​At the main campus, there are 52 buildings with over 1,256,270 gross square feet. The main campus consists of 270 acres.

The main campus houses the District Administrative offices, the main library, intramural and collegiate sports facilities, and the baseball and softball fields.  There are a number of outparcels held for future expansion.

 Capitol Center/Mary Brogan Museum of Art and Science

 

TCC Capitol Center, located on the lower level of Tallahassee's Mary Brogan Museum of Art and Science, is a state-of-the-art facility designed to serve the public in a host of ways, including the delivery of community and continuing education courses, business suites and conference and event space. Opened in May 2005, TCC Capitol Center also houses the Florida Society of Association Executives (FSAE) and the FSAE Foundation. The TCC Capitol Center's hours of operation are Monday - Friday; 8 a.m.-5 p.m., excluding holidays.

 Florida Public Safety Institute

 

The Florida Public Safety Institute (FPSI) offers training programs in firefighting, corrections, probation, dispatching, private security and law enforcement intelligence. FPSI is also the home of The Pat Thomas Law Enforcement Academy (PTLEA).  Students are trained to serve and protect in a variety of public safety careers. Located 14 miles from Tallahassee on 1,500 rolling and heavily wooded acres, the Institute offers a unique, world-class learning environment that provides realistic context to the training conducted by subject matter experts from all areas of criminal justice.  Ghazvini Center For Healthcare Education

 

Opened in September 2011, the Ghazvini Center for Healthcare Education is home to the following healthcare programs offered by TCC – diagnostic medical sonography, emergency medical services, nursing, radiologic technology, respiratory care, homemaker health companion, medical administrative specialist, medical billing and coding, national health records specialist, nursing assistant and pharmacy technician.

The 85,000 square foot facility, which sits in the heart of Tallahassee's medical corridor, features cutting-edge technology and allows students’ training to include responding to emergencies in simulated real-time settings. The Ghazvini Center also houses classrooms, conference rooms, a library/learning commons, laboratory space, a simulation center and administrative offices for TCC’s Division of Healthcare Professions.

 The Quincy House

 

The Quincy House, TCC's Gadsden County Service Center, opened in September 2004. Located at 216 North Adams Street in downtown Quincy, it is the focal point for TCC's efforts to work more closely with Gadsden County students, parents, schools, businesses and community groups. A key function of the 3,800 square foot facility is providing career counseling, financial aid counseling, application support, class placement, entrance exams and other educational services.

The Quincy House provides a computer lab and after-school learning center for students, access to job training, GED and adult education programs for workers and businesses; and also offers life skills courses such as financial literacy, computer literacy and practical parenting. Meeting rooms also host community groups such as Big Brothers Big Sisters, 4-H and the YMCA. The Quincy House hours of operation excluding holidays are Monday - Thursday; 8 a.m.-8 p.m., Friday; 8 a.m.-5 p.m. and Saturday; 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

 The Wakulla Business Center

 

​Opened in January 2006, the Wakulla Center is TCC's first service center for residents of Wakulla County. Similar to TCC's other service centers, the Wakulla Center offers professional training and development services and provides after-school and summer programs. In addition, the Wakulla Center offers community workshops and continuing education courses specific to the needs and interests of the county's residents such as boating safety, fishing techniques and tips and coastal landscaping. Hours of operation for the Wakulla Center are Monday - Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., excluding holidays.
