Which Type of Student are You?

If you are considering beginning or continuing your education, we would like you to consider Tallahassee Community College. We hope that you will find TCC to be a college that supports your educational endeavors. The links below will guide you through the admission process.

Readmit (Returning to TCC)

Former TCC students who have not been enrolled at TCC within the last 12 months are considered readmit or returning students and must submit a paper application for admission.

Continuing Education (Workforce) 

Targeted workforce training is offered in fields including information technology, manufacturing and business, as well as construction and trades.

Dual Enrolled High School/Home School

The dual enrollment program is the enrollment of an eligible secondary student or home education student in a postsecondary course creditable toward high school completion and a career certificate or an associate or baccalaureate degree.

First Time in College (Graduating High School Senior)

Students who are seniors in high school (or have graduated from an accredited high school), have not previously attended college, and are seeking admission to TCC for the first time are considered high school students/graduates.

Florida Public Safety

The Florida Public Safety Institute (FPSI) located at the Pat Thomas Law Enforcement Academy offers training programs in firefighting, corrections, probation, telecommunications, security officer and law enforcement. 

Foster Youth

Are you a current or former Foster Youth living in Florida? If so, you may be eligible for a tuition exemption (free tuition) and fee waivers to attend TCC or any other state college or university.

GED (Adult Education)

Adult Education delivers GED preparation and testing, English language instruction, career counseling, and TCC student benefits to facilitate transition into postsecondary education, technical programs, and the workforce.

International

Our International Student Services Office can help you with your admission steps whether you want to study in the U.S. or take online classes outside the U.S.

Non-Degree

Students who are not seeking a degree, but wish to take classes at Tallahassee Community College may apply as non-degree students.

Online

Online courses are delivered via the Internet. Lecture material, assignments, and other course materials are available online. In order to successfully participate in an online course, a student needs basic computer skills as well as adequate computer hardware and software.

State of Florida Employee

Through TCC's State Employee Tuition Waiver Program, state employees are eligible to take up to six in state credit hours per term on a space available basis during the specified registration window. TCC is proud to offer state employees this opportunity to enhance their skills and job competencies for a better future.

Transfer

Students who are transferring from another institution such as a Florida private or public community college, a state or private university, or an out-of state college or university are considered transfer students.

Transient

A transient student (aka "guest student") is a student who is enrolled at one University, but taking classes at another that will count toward their degree at their home University. Generally, this happens when students don't live near their home University over the summer but want to take a class or two to speed up the obtainment of their degree, or if for some reason they can't take a class at their home University that they need to graduate.
