Class of 2016 Graduate

Scholarships

There are more than 250 scholarships available to students through the TCC Foundation, each established by TCC Foundation donors. Numerous individuals and organizations in our community have created generous scholarships made available to nearly every type of student for the opportunity to receive funding for tuition, books and housing.

Establishing A Scholarship

Scholarships are vital to fulfilling TCC’s mission. They give faculty a recruitment tool to attract the best and brightest; they make education affordable for students; and they show prospective students we want them. A scholarship sends the message that students are college material and that we believe in their ability to succeed!

You can establish a named scholarship or program fund in any academic area. Some of the highest priorities include:

  • Academic merit scholarships
  • Need-based financial assistance

To establish a scholarship, please contact Sarah Stout, Scholarship Officer, (850) 201-6203, STOUTS@tcc.fl.edu.

My road to achieving my dream of becoming a Nurse has been a difficult one with regard to the financial aspect of college. I am a married mother of three and our family moved here in order to care for my mother who suffers from Parkinson’s disease. Unfortunately, the move from Virginia to Florida has made my educational goals difficult to afford. The TCC Foundation Opportunity Scholarship helps me to continue moving toward my educational goals."

“I was so excited to learn that I was chosen as the recipient of the TCC Foundation Opportunity Scholarship. Education is so important and has the ability to completely change one’s future. Due to my education at Tallahassee Community College I will become successful in my career and look forward to the opportunity to give back to others just as you’ve done for me. Thank you for your confidence and support in my future.”

My time in foster care was blessedly brief, but it gave me the burning desire to provide for children in the same circumstances. The Dot Binger Scholarship will enable me to continue taking classes at a full time level. It enables me to commit more time to my studies and my family instead of working to pay for tuition and all the other associated costs. Your generosity helps not only me but those whom I one day hope to help in the foster system.”

By awarding me the Clayton Homes Returning Adult Scholarship, you have provided everything that in I need to help me achieve my goals. I now don’t have to work so much and get to focus more on learning. I hope one day that I will also be able to help struggling students reach their goals in Higher Education by assisting them in the same way you have helped me.”

I came to TCC unsure if I could achieve college success. I left a woman with pride and determination, believing that I could obtain my goals and reach success. TCC helped me become the woman I am today, and I will be forever grateful. To pay it forward, I created a scholarship to honor my son Brandon King, who gave his life for our country. Each year, his scholarship makes someone else’s dream come true – that is an amazing gift to me!

"Many college scholarship programs are not available to students who have a felony. However, for potential students of TCC, there is a place to turn. Many generous friends of TCC have established the New Start Endowed Scholarship program. This scholarship is unique in that it provides financial assistance for students who have been involved in the juvenile justice system, but have turned their lives around. I think we can all agree that helping our children succeed is a goal that we all share."
