TCC Eyes New Welding Class

December 4, 2018

Tallahassee, Fla. (December 4, 2018) – Tallahassee Community College is planning to launch five new welding courses next year. Four of the courses will require a $225 lab fee, while the fifth course has a $150 lab fee. The lab fees will begin with the 2019 Spring Semester, if approved by the District Board of Trustees at its January 28, 2019, meeting.

The lab fees are used to cover the expenses for welding rods, gas (acetylene), metal (steel and iron), grinding wheels, wire wheels and feed wire for welding machines that are used in the classes.

Annually, the College reviews all fees and their impact on students. Any adjustment to student fees, such as the cost for laboratory materials, supplies or online access to textbooks, requires public notice and Board approval.
