Tallahassee Community College is urging students enrolled in the fall semester who are facing evictions or foreclosures to apply for emergency assistance.
The College is offering $600 per month up to a maximum of $1,800 per eligible student. Students can access the application form by visiting my.tcc.fl.edu or on the MYTCC app. Students can obtain more information by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org, or by calling 850-201-8590.
Students currently enrolled in the fall semester must submit their application by Thursday, Dec. 17 at noon. The financial aid support will be disbursed by Friday, Dec. 18.
The Thursday application deadline for housing eviction assistance does not apply to other emergency financial aid grants under the CARES Act. Funds for housing, healthcare, childcare and tuition expenses related to the pandemic are still available and will be disbursed in January.
Meanwhile, TCC will also provide scholarships for individuals who lost their employment or experienced reduced work hours due to COVID-19 through the College’s TCC2WORK Be Essential initiative. The program offers training in more than 60 in-demand areas that can be completed in 90-days or less in order to prepare people for other employment. TCC’s Eagle Relief Fund operated by the Foundation will continue to be used for one-time emergencies for food, utilities or other needs. Students may receive a $250 award once each year. To apply, visit tcc.fl.edu and search Eagle Relief Fund.
