Alternate Reality Art Exhibit Opening at TCC’s Fine Art Gallery

January 13, 2022

Tallahassee Community College is pleased to announce the opening of an alternate reality art exhibit featuring the work of Kenny Maguire at the TCC Fine and Performing Arts Center. The opening reception will take place on Thursday, January 13 from 5 p.m. until 7:30 p.m.

The exhibit will be open weekdays from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. through February 10.

Maguire, a well-known muralist in Tallahassee, will showcase art that comes to life when scanned by your mobile phone. Using augmented reality, 3-D aspects can be added to art making it appear as a floating form in the vicinity of the physical art piece. Viewers will be able to scan a QR code embedded in the art, turning the piece from a flat mural to a new, three-dimensional world controlled by the photographer. He recently completed the first three-dimensional mural in Georgia and will be bringing virtual reality art to the capital city.
