TCC Hosts AVID College and Career Fair

TCC Logo on exterior of Administration BuildingTallahassee Community College’s Division of Transitional Studies has partnered with Rickards High School to host the 5th annual Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) College and Career Fair on Wednesday, March 9 from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Workforce Development Ballroom on the main campus of TCC.

“Tallahassee Community College is pleased to partner with Rickards High School on this endeavor, and we are thrilled to have diverse college representation from Georgia, Florida, Alabama, and Ohio to provide information to high school juniors in Leon County about multiple career and college pathways,” says Sharisse Turner, TCC’s Dean of Transitional Studies.

High schools including Rickards, Lincoln, Chiles, Godby, FAMU DRS, and Florida High will bring Juniors and select senior students to learn about colleges and careers from around the region. Participating institutions include Florida State University (FSU), Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU), Bethune-Cookman University, Edward Waters University, Alabama A&M University, and Valdosta State University. Several TCC programs and organizations will also be on-site to offer information. Students will receive exposure to college admissions and will also have the chance to win door prizes.
