Tallahassee Community College District Board of Trustees Chair Eugene Lamb, Jr. has been awarded the 2023 Southern Region Trustee Leadership award by the Association of Community College Trustees (ACCT). Lamb has served on the Board since 2007, when he was appointed by Governor Charlie Crist. He has since been re-appointed to five consecutive terms by Governors Rick Scott and Ron DeSantis, and is currently serving his fourth term as chair. Read More

Tallahassee Community College has been recognized by the National Security Agency (NSA) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) as a Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense (CAE-CD). The CAE-CD program is a joint effort by the NSA and DHS to reduce vulnerability in our national information infrastructure by promoting higher education and research in cyber defense and producing professionals with cyber defense expertise. Dr. Jim Murdaugh, president of Tallahassee Community College, has announced that Shelly Bell has been appointed as the new Vice President of Workforce Development effective July 24. Bell has served as the Director of Lively Technical College since June 2017. Under her leadership, the school transitioned from a vocational center to a technical college and experienced remarkable growth. Read More

Dr. Jim Murdaugh, president of Tallahassee Community College, has announced that Janet Hartman has been appointed as the new Executive Director of the Florida Public Safety Institute (FPSI) effective June 1, 2023. Hartman has more than 30 years of experience in public safety, having begun her career as a law enforcement officer with the Florida Capitol Police. Tallahassee Community College recently honored individuals who have made a significant impact in the field of public safety at the Fourth Annual Heroes in Public Safety Awards Banquet. The Heroes in Public Safety program recognizes those heroes who have attended TCC or have trained at the Florida Public Safety Institute (Pat Thomas Academy or Lively) or the Ghazvini Center for Healthcare Education.
