TCC Earns Prestigious CAE-Cyber Defense Designation

Tallahassee Community College has been recognized by the National Security Agency (NSA) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) as a Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense (CAE-CD). The CAE-CD program is a joint effort by the NSA and DHS to reduce vulnerability in our national information infrastructure by promoting higher education and research in cyber defense and producing professionals with cyber defense expertise. Shelly Bell Named VP of Workforce Development at TCC

Dr. Jim Murdaugh, president of Tallahassee Community College, has announced that Shelly Bell has been appointed as the new Vice President of Workforce Development effective July 24. Bell has served as the Director of Lively Technical College since June 2017. Janet Hartman Named Executive Director of the Florida Public Safety Institute

Dr. Jim Murdaugh, president of Tallahassee Community College, has announced that Janet Hartman has been appointed as the new Executive Director of the Florida Public Safety Institute (FPSI) effective June 1, 2023. Hartman has more than 30 years of experience in public safety, having begun her career as a law enforcement officer with the Florida Capitol Police. TCC launches three bachelor’s degree programs and scholarship opportunities

Tallahassee Community College has announced the addition of three new bachelor's degree programs to prepare students for careers in high-demand fields. The Bachelor of Applied Science in Business Administration, Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education, and Bachelor of Science in Exceptional Student Education will launch in August 2023 and are accepting applications now. TCC President Receives Shirley B. Gordon Award

President Jim Murdaugh has been awarded the Shirley B. Gordon Award of Distinction by Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Honor Society. The award was presented at PTK Catalyst 2023, the Society’s annual convention in Columbus, Ohio. The Shirley B. Gordon Award is PTK’s most prestigious award for community college presidents and is named in honor of the late Dr. Shirley B. Gordon, PTK’s longest-serving Board of Directors Chair and a founder and long-time president of Highline Community College in Washington. Read More

TCC Forensics Team Brings Home Silver Team Awards from Phi Rho Pi Nationals

Ten members of TCC’s Forensics Team brought home three team sweepstakes awards and 11 individual awards from the Phi Rho Pi National Tournament held in Washington, D.C. from April 10 through 15. The Eagles won team Silver Awards in Individual Events, Debate, and Overall Team Sweepstakes. This marks the 23 consecutive year that TCC has brought home a team award from nationals. Read More
